Puerto Chiapas celebrates the consolidation in the cruise and cargo industries, since their docks, fishing and cruise are occupied by ships and cargo vessels, performing unloading operations as well as import and export maneuvers.
Fishing In this sector are docked shrimp boats and boats owned by Herdez del Fuerte which are making unloading maneuvers of tuna and raw material for the canning process that distribute nationwide.
Importantly, in support to this sector in the fishing piers are carried out rehabilitation works, on sidewalks, driveways, perimeter netting, guard houses and reinforcing the screens in docks, bollards, lighting and have a store that will serve this area, which for years had no investments.
Cruises
> From Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica, the day today, about 7:35 am docked at the cruise ship dock in Puerto Chiapas, the Regatta ship, carrying 605 passengers and 402 crew.
This first-class cruiser, owned by the cruise line "Oceania Cruises", flagged from Marshall Islands, has a length of 180 meters, 28.3 meters wide and 30.277 grt and inside there are 342 suites, 4 restaurants, 1 spa pools, 8 lounges and bars, casino, fitness and aesthetics.
The ship is scheduled to depart at 16:00 pm to Puerto Huatulco, Oaxaca.
Cargo
In the cargo sector, 3 tuna vessels are moored, the ship "Patojo" with flag Panama, general cargo type which has a length of 67.45 meters, 15.30 meters and beam of 1.639 GRT, which is on the project "Short Sea Shipping", exporting scrap to Puerto Quetzal and the container ship "MV CFS Desiree" from shipping line "Hapag Lloyd", which has 15 000 636 Gross Registered Tons (GRT), 161.09 meters long, with a reception capacity of 1.304 TEU wich has an exportation program of 3.960 tons (160 containers) inside which highlights titanium ore, coffee and honey, as well as to import 1 container with 4 tons.
