The Port of Chiapas receives the arrival of the  Hapag Lloyd shipping line, as part of the scheduling stated on the containers trade route.

• This is the first commercial fixed route established in the history of the port. 

As part of its programming, today Puerto Chiapas receives again the vessel Mv. Mercs Jaffna which will dock at the container port at 5:00 pm, comming from Puerto Caldera, to unload 20 containers with a total of 1,299.80 merchandise tons.

The vessel MV Mercs Jaffna, has 15 thousand 636 gross registered tons (GRT), 161.09 meters large, with a reception capacity of 1.304 TEU 

This company makes arrivals every fourteen days to the port, it is important to enhace this trade route opens a new way in logistics for producers and traders in the area and western Guatemala. 

Puerto Chiapas today is consolidated in the movement of containers, thanks to the fact it has a modern port infrastructure which consists of a reception yard of 60.000 m2, with capacity of 1,800 containers in stacks of 4, with 160 reefer sockets, highly trained staff  and an established commercial route, with every fourteen days arrivals. 

Puerto Chiapas supports the growth and development of the region to promote projects for the benefit of its inhabitants where the producer and trader may develop their supply chains; this will let the customers close the production cycle and fill their containers from their property or work area, for transfer to the Port for export and / or import.
