Continue Puerto Chiapas 2010 Cruises Season

Puerto Chiapas is ready to receive 8 more vessels, allowing to met a new year record, duplicating ship arrivals for the third consecutive year this December.

After 16 new arrivals in its first cruises season from January to May this year, and receiving new shipping lines such as "Princess Cruises" and the Seven Seas Navigator ship from "Regent Seven Seas" cruises line, Puerto Chiapas is ready to receive 8 more vessels, allowing to met a new year record, duplicating ship arrivals for the third consecutive year this December.

Thus, the shipping line beginning the last 2010 season is the Holland America's Zuiderman, considered one of the biggest ships in this line.

The Zuiderdam will dock at the Cruise Terminal next October 5 at 8:00 hrs. in the morning, carrying an estimated total of 1,848 passengers and 800 person crew.

The Dutch-flagged cruise ship has length of 285.43 meters, 32 meters wide and 82,000 gross registered tons.

Passengers and crew will enjoy a show at the bay dock including regional dances and marimba music at Puerto Chiapas, they will also have a terminal tour across the wide gardens and make several purchases of crafts and typical Chiapas products, visiting various local tourist destinations including Izapa Archaeological Zone, Coffe rout, Tapachula Center City, Laguna de Pozuelo, Banana and Chocolate Tours, these tours visitors will learn about the customs, cuisine and traditions of this Soconusco region.

The ship will depart at 17:00 pm.


Puerto Chiapas is honored to be one of the ports chosen to celebrate the 400 year relationship with Japan and to receive such important visitors.
